About

This is the Clean Object I/O library version 1.2.1 for Windows95/98/NT.
The Clean Object I/O is (c) 1998 University of Nijmegen, Hilt B.V.

Install
=======

The Object I/O library versin 1.2.1 is based on another library
called "StdLib 1.0". For downloading convenience this library is included
in this distribution, but you might have it already because it is
also seperately downloadable. You don't need to have it twice.
A StdLib with a higher version number than 1.0 will also work fine.

It is handy to put all Object I/O library folders into the Clean 1.3.3
folder. To use the Object I/O library you have to set a path to the
"Object IO 1.2.1" folder and a path to the "OS Windows" subfolder.
Further you have to set a path to the "StdLib 1.0" folder.

See the documentation for the CleanIDE for information about how to set
paths.

Now you can try some of the example programs included in the
"Object I0 Examples 1.2.1" folder. For some of them you also have to
set a path to the "gui utilities" folder. You can find information
about how to run an example program at

  http://www.cs.kun.nl/~clean/About_Clean/body_the_clean_ide/body_the_clean_ide.htm

Use the Object I/O library version 1.2.1 with the Clean compiler
version 1.3.2 or higher, but not with versions less than 1.3.2.

A tutorial for this library is available from the Clean homepage at

  http://www.cs.kun.nl/~clean/

Differences between the Object I/O library versions 1.2.1 and 1.2
=================================================================

- version 1.2.1 is downward compatible to version 1.2.
- version 1.2.1 can be compiled with the Clean 1.3.3 and Clean 1.3.2 compiler, but
- version 1.2 cannot be compiled with the Clean 1.3.3 compiler
